David Trubridge’s sculptural lighting designs are renowned for their interplay of form, shadow, and nature-inspired geometry. However, translating the physical poetry of these pieces into a digital space posed a unique challenge: how do you recreate the emotional effect of light, its mood, movement, and atmosphere through a screen? The brief was clear: elevate the online experience to match the artistry of the product.
Our Approach
To elevate the online experience, we turned to CGI—crafting immersive 3D animations that simulate how each light behaves in space. Users can view each design in both daylight and illuminated modes, revealing the intricate shadows and material details that define Trubridge’s work.
Each animation was tailored to the light’s unique geometry, using custom motion paths to emphasise layering, asymmetry, and texture. CGI allowed for colour fidelity and visual consistency that photography alone couldn’t match, creating assets that are both expressive and practical.
The result is a slower, more contemplative digital experience—one that invites users to feel the effect of light, not just see it. For a brand grounded in storytelling, sustainability, and sensory design, this digital evolution mirrors the thoughtfulness of the products themselves.
